Future for Religious Heritage (FRH), established in 2011, is a unique organization devoted to preserving Europe’s diverse religious heritage. Comprising over 200 members across 43 countries, including charities, conservation departments, governmental bodies, and professionals, FRH is a non-faith, non-profit network. Its mission involves advocating for and safeguarding Europe’s religious heritage by uniting stakeholders, participating in forums, and engaging with policymakers. FRH promotes the value of religious heritage, prevents abandonment, and encourages sustainable practices. Notable achievements include becoming a founding member of the European Heritage Alliance, launching projects like ALTERheritage and Europe Tour, and gaining recognition at the EU level. Conferences, initiatives like #JUMPFORHERITAGE, and collaborations, such as joining the Climate Heritage Network, underscore FRH’s commitment to preserving and innovating around religious heritage. The organization’s continued efforts, including the recent 6th Biennial Conference in Lund, Sweden, demonstrate its pivotal role in safeguarding Europe’s rich religious heritage.
